FEES
The
Louque Law Firm strives to provide quality representation for its
clients at affordable rates. All fee agreements are reduced to writing
and signed by the attorney and client so both the firm and the client
knows the nature of the fees being charged.
Flat fees:
The Louque Law Firm ordinarily charges a flat fee for
routine matters such as bankruptcy matters, criminal defense, and
uncontested divorces (no children, no community property issues, and
the other side is unrepresented). On occasion, we also
charge a
flat fee per task on debt collection defense matters. It is
difficult to quote
a fee for any matter without hearing about your legal matter
beforehand. However, at the end of the initial consultation,
you
will be made aware of the fee we will charge and the matters covered by
the
flat fee.
Hourly Rate:
We ordinarily charge an hourly rate in matters which it is
difficult to predict the amount of time that will be involved.
Hourly rates are common in family law matters involving
contested divorces, child custody/support proceedings, and community
property matters. We normally require a deposit (retainer)
on
cases in which we charge an hourly rate. The
amount of
the retainer will depend on the complexity of your legal
matter.
Contingency Fees:
We charge a contingency fee for most consumer protection
matters, including cases filed under the FDCPA.
In some
debt
collection defense cases, our fee will be based, in part, on a
percentage of the amount saved in settlement.
